Our Story

Right from the start Kate had a mission, to create delicious homemade cakes using the best ingredients around. Then, as it is now, this meant saying no to GMO foods, yes to free range eggs and giving the thumbs up to avoiding artificial flavourings or preservatives.

It is an ethos we’ve stuck to because we believe in it, and we believe our customers are right behind us, which is why we’ve gone even further to ensure we bring you the best products we possibly can. For us that means working with local cultures and people to improve sustainability, sourcing the finest ingredients, using local products if at all possible and making sure we do everything to reduce our carbon footprint. How? By taking all our electricity from the North Sea, by not air freighting raw materials, by using all our cake waste as animal feed and by recycling all leftover wood and cardboard.

And it’s working. Since 1989, what started as a cottage industry has well and truly grown with an inspirational team behind it. We have roomy new kitchens to develop more scrumptious recipes, a global client base and a reputation as one of the best around when it comes to irresistibly tasty, premium hand crafted cakes.
